The lightly falling snow made for a beautiful scene this morning as my pageant sisters and I rode in the Sleigh and Cutter Parade. We each were assigned to our own horse drawn sleighs to glide down the main streets of Waseca in celebration of the Sleigh and Cutter Festival. We then helped host a lunch-in for all of the drivers and participants that helped make the event possible. We also had the opportunity to thank the Sleigh and Cutter board for their support of Team Waseca and all they do for us throughout our reigns.
The Sleigh and Cutter Festival is in full swing! We kicked off the night with the newscasters from WCCO, who were on the scene to report about the upcoming events and the great town of Waseca. We then moved on to dinner and talking to members of the community while we took tickets and gave out wristbands. After clearing tables to make room for the dance floor, the Waseca queens led the flag ceremony and sang the Star Spangled banner before introducing the band. Then we danced the night away to the music of Chris Brooke's and the Silver City Boys. I even had a little boy named Uestace request that I be his date for the evening. He absolutely made my night! I had so much fun with the Waseca community, and am so thankful for the Sleigh and Cutter committee opening the South Central title and making Lauren and I feel so welcome in their community. I can't wait for the other upcoming sleigh and cutter events!
Can I just say how happy I am that this is crossed off my bucket list? My sister queens and I went out in the bitter cold this morning and took the plunge into the waters of Waseca's Clear Lake. Lauren and I jumped with our "Summer in February" look, and Sadie and Katie sported their "Super Hero" themed costumes. Now I can say I've done it, but it will take some pretty persuasive convincing to get me to ever do it again!
