We may have frozen our fingers off, but Lauren and I helped Katie Schreoder, Miss Waseca, tonight, by handing out bags for the Holiday Train. Katie's platform is "Fill a Bag, Feed a Belly - Hunger Awareness", and tonight we promoted her platform by passing out paper bags to Walmart shoppers and talking to them about how they could fill the bags with food and donate them at the holiday train. The food would then be given to families in their community for Thanksgiving. I must admit, I ran inside many times to warm up my numb hands, but it always feels great helping a pageant sister spread her platform, and see the passion she has for what she's doing. Watching how Katy get's involved in the Waseca community encourages me to do the same in my own.
Okay, who doesn't like a good old fashioned game of bingo!? I have had so much fun calling numbers for Sleigh and Cutter's Dream Catcher Bingo. We get to run it every other Friday night as a fundraiser for Team Waseca and Dream Catchers. Along with selling tickets and calling numbers, we also always seem to be dragged into a few rounds of karaoke by Lauren. Not that she has to do too much dragging! Royals is a favorite, along with many other country songs that I never know the words to!
Thank you for visiting my blog! Come back often as I will update with pictures and journal about various appearances I make, share my platform, and prepare for Miss Minnesota in June!
