Today my sister queens and I had tea with the Waseca Girl Scouts! Drew, Megan and I planned some games and activities to make reviewing our manners fun. The girls had a blast coming up with silly ways to say please while their partners tried hard not to smile when saying thank you. Later we played a very ladylike version of musical chairs. We shared a lot of laughs this afternoon, and I realized I needed to review my manners even more than some of the girls did!
Last night, I was crowned Miss South Central 2016. I am so honored to have received this title and excited to start promoting my platform "Let's Connect: The Importance of Social Media and Internet Safety." I have a lot of hard work ahead of me as I prepare to compete at Miss Minnesota this spring, but it's a journey I cannot wait to begin. Before I head off to bed tonight, I should really give a shout out to my absolutely incredible cheering section that came out to see me tonight. I have been blessed with the most amazing support group consisting of both friends and family, and I can't even begin to express just how thankful I am for them. God is so good!
Guess what I did last night!? Though it may not have been for the presidential election, I did have the opportunity to vote for the first time regarding the school referendum. Steele County schools will now be receiving more funding towards maintenance and additions. This is so important for our schools because of the recent overcrowding that has occurred. New additions will be made to the actual school buildings, rather than building separate temporary units outside.
After taking a year off from competing, I am excited to announce that I will be competing at the Waseca Sleigh and Cutter Pageant for the title of Miss South Central (my first Miss competition). I must admit, I did enjoy taking my senior year off as it was a really busy and crazy year, but I'm so looking forward to being back on the stage. Paper work is complete and orientation and rehearsals are to come!
We were reunited with our Waseca Princesses again today! We got to ride with them in the Waseca Marching Classic parade. The girls were ecstatic to be riding in there first parade. I absolutely love it when the girls ask if one day they can be just like us and do stuff like this all the time. After the parade was over and all of the girls had been picked up, Lauren and I went out for coffee before heading to the Coon Rapids Pageant. We got to see my sister queen Sage Hovet win Miss Coon Rapids Outstanding Teen! I am so proud of her and the performance she gave tonight. She definitely deserved the title.
Thank you for visiting my blog! Come back often as I will update with pictures and journal about various appearances I make, share my platform, and prepare for Miss Minnesota in June!
